Transformational Characters Training
For People in Philanthropy
On October 21st-24th, our team is hosting a four-day, in-person training called Transformational Characters in Philanthropy.
For this training, we invite people who are interested in leveraging their position in philanthropy in order to meet this moment in time and the transformation that’s needed to resource it. We invite wealth holders and stewards - people with access to personal or familial wealth and people working in philanthropy who help resource our organizations and movements. We hope this training supports the specific challenges resource mobilizers are grappling with in these times by building connection with one another, and practicing the relational and emotional skills needed in a time of heightened economic and political uncertainty.
Together, we’ll explore a central question: How do we build the skills to become the people for our time?
This time asks more of us. More honesty, courage and capacity to stay connected in the midst of stress, grief, and uncertainty. This training is about building the relational and emotional skills to stay present with ourselves and one another – especially when it’s hard.
We’ll learn through embodied practice – working with sensation, emotion, movement, and relationship. We’ll explore how stress can become an opportunity for connection. How conflict can become a doorway and how to cultivate relationship as a resource.
This training is for people who are interested in:
Learning through embodied experience, not just ideas or theory.
Building practical skills for feeling more agency and choice – especially in moments of stress, conflict, or change.
Cultivating a grounded sense of self within your relationship to power, influence, and resources.
Meeting the opportunity of this time with responsibility and joy.
Applying what they learn beyond the training in their relationships, work, or communities.
Applications due August 5th.
